A cracked skylight or worn interior trim can leave you with leaks and an unfinished ceiling. This complete kit fits 14" x 22" openings with a smoke skylight, heavy-duty inner garnish, and approved sealant for a finished look inside and out.
When the skylight needs replacing, worn or damaged trim inside can leave you with another project waiting after the roof work is finished. This kit gives you the 14" x 22" polycarbonate smoke-colored skylight, heavy-duty inner garnish, and approved sealant together. You can replace the exterior skylight and finish the opening from inside without piecing together the main components separately.
Replacing the outer skylight only solves half the problem when the opening still looks unfinished from inside your RV. The included garnish uses heavy-duty, injection-molded ABS plastic that is built to stay strong and UV-stable over time. White walls finish the edges around the ceiling opening, while the clear top lets natural light continue into the space.
Finding out a replacement does not match your opening after the old skylight comes off can bring the whole project to a stop. This kit is designed for a 14" x 22" roof opening. The outer skylight has a 17-1/2" x 25-1/2" flange, while the inner garnish measures 17" x 25" at the flange, giving you the key dimensions to check before starting the job.
A skylight can brighten a small RV bathroom or living space, but direct sunlight can feel harsh and hot when it pours through the roof. The smoke-colored outer skylight tones down incoming light, while the lightly frosted top of the inner garnish diffuses the natural light so you get the benefit of daylight without the added heat.
Roof thickness can make replacement more complicated when the interior trim does not have enough depth to finish the opening properly. The contoured inner garnish is designed for roofs at least 1-1/2" thick, giving you more flexibility across compatible RV ceiling depths. Check your roof thickness and opening dimensions before ordering so you know the kit matches your setup.
Get a waterproof install using the included sealant approved for use with polycarbonate plastic. Remove the old skylight, then clean and prep the roof surface so it's dry and debris-free. For added sealing, apply butyl tape (sold separately) along the skylight flange before setting it in place. Secure it with 1" zinc or stainless steel screws (not included), then seal over the flange edges and fasteners with the included sealant. Install the garnish from the inside using 1" screws (not included) to complete the setup. If you need hardware or additional sealant, an install kit is available separately (SR76RR). If you'd like help installing your skylight, check out our Installer Locator to find an installer near you.

Hi, everyone. Steve here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at our Specialty Recreation Heavy-Duty Skylight Kit. This is a smoke color, and this is designed for your 14 by 22-inch cutouts on those roof openings. So, this is gonna be a great replacement or maybe even an upgrade if you don't have one. And you're gonna get, of course, the smoke piece.
And then, of course, the main piece here that has holes pre-drilled in it. You're not gonna get any hardware included, but you are gonna get their SR140 skylighting sealant. Make sure you're only using this and nothing else because this is made to work with the plastic makeup that they've designed to where it's gonna be compatible. They have told me from the manufacturer, if you're not using this stuff, some of the other stuff could potentially eat through the plastic. So, it's very important to use the stuff that they send with it.
If for some reason you need more of this, we sell it individually, separately, as well here at etrailer. Now this has been injection molded. The inner garnish gives you a clean finish appearance. And this is a pretty much universal design. And this is really, really sturdy.
(plastic thumping) So, it's gonna take a beating, a brunt, whether it's hail, wind, maybe debris that falls. We all know some campsites unfortunately had a lot of trees that maybe need trimmed back and stuff happens, you know So, twigs, limbs, those kind of things are not gonna hurt this. So, that's a great option for you. Again, this is made for a 14 by 22-inch cutout. That being said, top of it to the very bottom of that flange, I got 26 inches overall, and then 18 inches wide outside to outside.
Now before we wrap it up, folks. If you don't wanna tackle this yourself, you can always reach out to us here at etrailer. Using our dealer or installation tool, we can find somebody based on your zip code, local to you in your area that can get the installation done for you as well. That's gonna wrap up our quick look together. I'm Steven. Thanks for watching.

Ratings & Reviews
Better than expected, I especially like that the inside portion had a wider lip than the original and the outside (on top of trailer) had more mounting holes and spaced adequately so I didn't have to try and use the holes from the old skylight.
Quality seems par as far as rv parts go. Would had given 4 stars but it did not come with fasteners. Maybe it said that in the description but I missed that.
